Mobile Messaging (SMS & WhatsApp) Notifications

When you choose to enable SMS or WhatsApp notifications in your Spark profile, the following additional terms apply:

1. Opt‑In and Verification

  • You must provide a valid mobile phone number, complete a CAPTCHA challenge, and verify ownership by entering a one‑time code sent via SMS.
  • The code expires after 10 minutes and is stored only as a cryptographic hash for validation.

2. Types of Messages

  • We send transactional messages related to campaigns you manage or follow (e.g., launch alerts, milestone reminders) and essential service notices.
  • We will not send marketing content via SMS or WhatsApp unless you have separately opted in to marketing communications.

  • You may withdraw consent at any time as described below.

4. Opt‑Out

  • You can disable mobile notifications in your Spark profile settings or reply STOP to an SMS/WhatsApp message.
  • We will honour opt‑out requests promptly and no later than 24 hours after receipt.

5. Third‑Party Messaging Providers

  • We use trusted messaging partners (currently Twilio Inc.) to deliver messages. Your phone number and message metadata are shared with them solely for message routing.
  • These partners process data under Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards.

6. Fees

Message and data rates may apply as imposed by your mobile carrier. Wildfire is not responsible for these charges.

7. Data Retention

  • Your verified phone number is retained while your Spark account remains active or until you revoke consent, whichever occurs first.
  • After opt‑out or account deletion, the number is removed or irreversibly anonymised within 30 days.

8. Security

  • Mobile numbers are stored encrypted at rest.
  • Verification codes are never stored in plain text and are deleted immediately after validation.
